Halloween is one of my favorite Holiday’s! It’s always so fun to dress in character or do some fabulous makeup. Here’s a fun idea for a halloween costume. The Mermaid! It’s quite easy to put this look together, and it’s so much fun.

Supplies:

Seashells. I found some from neighbors (ask around), Hobby Lobby and the Dollar store.

This mermaid crown is quite easy to make, and doesn’t take up too much time.

First, take 2 elastics and tie them together.

Add your ribbon. Measure your ribbon so it feels tight on your head, the elastic will stretch it out and the weight of the seashells stretches it out as well.

Once you get your headband measured, get an idea of what you want your crown to look like. I like to layout the shells before I glue them. I find that the less you overthink it, the better it looks.

Once you’ve got your shells laid out, and glued. It’s time for the bling!

Here’s another example of a crown I made. It was fun to add the pearl necklace.

I have found that the shells can are a bit uncomfortable on your forehead, so it’s a good idea to add a piece of felt on the back of your crown so it’s more comfortable to wear.

How cool are these scales?! It’s actually quite easy to achieve this look. All I did was use fish net tights. I put the fish net tights on my models face and used eyeshadow to achieve this look, cool huh! I used a few different shades of turquoise eyeshadow to add dimension to the scales.
